We lost our beloved cat, Oreo this past week. She deserves a mention in our blog because she was such a perfect pet. Oreo was friendly, reserved, smart and content. She seemed even to be wise (if an animal is capable of that.) Oreo was known and loved by several friends and neighbors and her kittens were in demand.
For her memorial, we listed our favorite things about Oreo, like: "She wasn't annoying," "She liked to cuddle up with us," "She brought us trash off the lawn."
Because she was so awesome, Oreo would bring us candy and popsicle wrappers left on the lawn by forgetful children and drop them at our feet. We often found bits of trash or a dead mouse on our front step: Her little offering of love left for us to see as we opened the door.
Tears have been shed and she will be missed.

We feel your pain at our house, too. We lost our cat Bono on Saturday - we are still in the tear stage. Bummer. I hate going through this with the kids, but I've been told it's a good way for them to learn about death without having it be horribly painful. I guess we will see. Good luck!
My condolences. What a beautiful cat. So sorry to hear about it.
