Herbivore? Carnivore?

LOCAVORE!
Do you know where your food is coming from...ripening in the back of a semi...covered in pesticides...missing most of its true color and flavor? Wouldn't you rather eat fruits and vegetables properly ripened in their season : juicy, delicious and full of nutrients?
We are loving the idea of buying local...Locavore wannabees. Our climate does not allow for local produce year around, but we will do our best to find it whenever we can.
Last week we visited the Park City Farmer's Market on Wednesday. I was reminded of my days in S. Korea, wandering through street markets, finding fresh fruits, vegetables and meats to prepare for our dinner that night. I loved eating that way: Chatting with the vendors and selecting from items picked that very day. It was fun, healthy and everything tasted so good.
The culture and fare are different here, but the benefits are the same. My favorite finds in Park City included huge ripe tomatoes (I bought some for salsa), herbs, greens of all kinds, corn, artisan breads, cherries, berries, melons, and flowers (fresh cut or ready to plant.)
There was easily enough variety for some delicious fresh eating throughout the week. The kids picked out a Country Garlic artisan bread (you can sample each kind before buying) with whole cloves of garlic baked inside. We ate it dipped it in balsamic vinegar and with a slice of fresh tomato, grated mozzarella, and italian herbs toasted on top. Delicious...the way food is meant to taste.

It's not our anniversary or anything

...just time I started scrapbooking. We've been going through old photos and found this from our wedding! And that is not all. Some of my children found pictures of themselves as babies that they have never seen! So sad...thus, I have been scanning for hours and I am determined.

I am so excited about digital scrapbooking. No messes and space consuming supplies. Just design and upload with a few taps on the keyboard. Then have it printed out in a tidy little book. I am looking for the ultimate scrapbooking website. Which is it? snapfish, shutterfly, picaboo, smilebox...or somewhere else? I tend to like to do things my own way, but the ease of these online layouts is tempting. There are even lots of freebies if you have hours and hours to browse the internet. So, on to my new obsession.

4th of July Street of Fire

We had our own little 4th of July celebration with friends. Our pyromania peaks every 4th and we just want to light our own fireworks. So here are a few pictures of food, fun and fire! And we are, of course, very thankful for FREEDOM!
