The traditional dress called a Kanga. These ladies showed me how to wear one. I thought the ladies of Africa looked so beautiful and often elegant in their Kangas. They were rather hot to wear though!

Soapmaking class...Relief Society deja vu.

Our soapmaking ladies...so smart, ambitious and grateful. We wish them all the best of luck in their ventures.

Coast Coconut Farms staff and USS visitors.
Bart had a great time working and training with them.

A girl at a village Muslim school.

Boy with the handmade school soccer ball. It is amazing how much creativity can be born from necessity!

Boys playing with their new soccer ball. Bart and his colleagues played a game of soccer with about 100 boys...or it seemed like that many. The kids laughed and screamed and jumped up and down when we arrived with a new ball and began playing with them.

The perfect trip = a mixture of service and leisure.

What is it about Africa? It just gets right into your heart...
